I think the OP is using a RCBS press.
Lee and Redding do a .357 die set and a .38 special die set. The .357 dies can't load .38 spec cases.

Normal routine would be to use .38 spec dies (sometimes marked .38/357) and if you don't like resetting your dies you can fit a spacer under the locking ring.

I have a set of new Hornady dies which has written on it "38/357/357 max.
Will shortly be listed in the for sale section.
Sorry I did think you could use Lee dies in the RCBS press
I loaded some rounds up you could put a 10p over the group at 50M
nothing wrong with the Lee dies.
Would a extra lock ring work mate only £3

Thanks for all you replies, But Like I said I want a set of RCBS one, I purchased the lee ones secondhand very cheaply and I think they are flawed, So Just thought I would like to try a RCBS set, ( not being anal about lee ) I also know that the set which I have will do 38 special/ 357Magnum which is what I want ......NOT the 38
