Just noticed that Jim Maccari in the US has some of these. Not cheap, but if you have an otherwise excellent rifle with an 'earless' safety, it might be worth buying one.

I bought one new in the 80s sent back twice and still safety not work properly my friends was the same, I bought a tatty one couple years back and yes safety not work lovely rifle but safety useless

Mine has been removed.
I can manage without a safety.
Maybe they are mandatory in the USA?

I had one that didn't work,stripped it put it back with a bit of moly & new spring it then worked fine.Not sure if the spring was the problem as the old one looked fine.

For the most part, a safety is to give the mindless a sense of security.
For the rest, the safety is a blardy nuisance
The number of times the damn things have caught me out and cost a good shot
