Be advised that Mr House used to insist on a face-to-face meet, and he has/had to like you, too.

Then there's the three-five year wait while you locate the three-five thousand dollars - or more.

Mike Brooks is a bit quicker, and slightly less expensive, I'm told. There seems to be only one person here in UK making flintlocks - Peter Dyson - and he only makes a replica of a Baker rifle. About three years and £4K seems to be normal there.

Back over in Oregon there are around thirty good makers, and ten excellent makers, and five OMG makers of national renown.

Shame you don't live there, eh?

That's useful many thanks. Actually I have an office in Denver and spend a fair bit of time each year in the USA. I have a client in Oregon so maybe I just need to pop up 'on business'.
