Most people on here use something like a Photobucket account, then post the link to the relevant pic. Simple to set up and very useful.

The nearest ser. no. to yours in my mk3 collection is 27452 which I have recorded as a series 4 model manufactured between 1958-59. The serial number is also stamped on inside of stock and pistol grip is chequered the same as yours.
As has already been said pics would be useful; from your description I would expect it to be very similar to mine.

Anyone new to a forum usually needs to do a small number of posts before they can add pictures.
I am in 3 forums and I always add pics from having them in a photobucket account then post them by copy/paste the image link.
