Haenel 28, can you open the back without spring compression?

I assume the Haenel 28 spring is not under that much pressure that you can't release by hand?

With a good spring in it you could get a nice wack on the thumb joint taking the cap off. Not so bad putting it back.

I've taken the cap off a Lucznik Predom, and it shoots at 400 fps, without issue. I assume the Haenel would be less taxing?

As I said depends how lively the spring is, if weak it will be an anti climax ! These pistols are not known for much power output.Just wear a glove and perhaps wrap some cloth around the cap and it will be off in two ticks.
