    New member says hello

    Hello,

I returned to shooting after 25years last January

Bought an r10 mk2 which I now use for HFT after lots of fiddling about, with an MTC viper connect.

Am trying to get into FT on the cheap with a bsa deerstalker 8-32 but it's a struggle!

    Cheers

    Dan

    Hiya Dan, and welcome.

Is that the BSA SWF 8-32x44? 30mm tube and granite finish? I have an old duplex one of those, which is an amazingly good rangefinder. Although the erector tube seemed to get stuck once, so I had to hit it with a shoe.

Everybody says (predictably) that the new ones are nowhere near as good as the old ones, so in true cheapskate fashion, I ordered a new one from China via 'that auction site'. I've not compared the two yet. But at £65 delivered, it can't be a bad deal...

Anyway - Welcome back to target shooting.

    Hi Chris, small world!

I'm giving the sightron ( very careful ) trial today, having looked thru it at home I think I understand what all the fuss is about - 4k tv compared to my Amstrad telly!

Exactly that! It's got a mil dot ret. I'm finding a very decent gap on the wheel 50-55 yds of about 7mm, but it doesn't snap in and out of focus , oh and the parallax adjuster Nob thingy is loose so the wheel flaps about a bit.

    Other than that all good.

I'm trying a sightron out (very kindly on loan) today - expecting to notice a difference........
