    Giffard shot-shell pictures and more

Back from France, I found an original case for rifles, an original wooden box for one cartouche and (ultra rare) two shot-shells.

The diameter is 8.5 mm , the lenght 16.5 mm and the weight 3.5 ... 4 g. The front is probably filled with wax.

Here some pictures that can be enlarged twice.

photo site requires some plug in, so can't see. Would love to.

It appears to me that there is very little in the way of airgun collectors in France. Of course, other than the Giffards, apparently there isn't much to collect.

I'm still hoping to find an airgun history enthusiast who would like to help track down examples of original battlefield "Girandoni's" in the Paris museums. We know that they're there, just got to find somebody willing to take the time to go and take a look.

A member on here has a lovely Giffard air cartridge rifle which uses pressurised cartridges similar to the TAC sytem. The cartridges are very well made, see pics..
