manxteddy,
Do you mean the aperture disc ?
IIRC, the Parker-Hale used 7/32 – 40 ; this is the same as Williams, Lyman, Redfield etc.
Have fun & a good weekend
Best regards
Russ
Not a lot of help on this as I think both of what you have enquired are in "old money", but for info all the new metric ones are also confusing being in the almost unused for any thing else 9.5 x 1 mm's.
Have Fun and Good shooting.

Err, no such thing as 9.5 x 1 m.m. unless you have custom taps made. The actual thread size for Gehman / anschutz type sights is 3/8" x 26 Cycle thread. I know as, apart from actually measuring the thread, I have made or converted several sets of sights to take the Gehman eye pieces. A close alternative is 3/8" Brass which gives a very slight interference fit to discourage the eye piece from unscrewing itself. Taps are available from model engineers suppliers.
Many thanks .
I have contacted Norman Clark Gunsmiths and Bill Smallwood has found what I wanted.
Cheers

Sorry Andrew,
The taps and dies may not be readily available off the shelf, but on metric sights the correct thread size is 9.5 by 1 mm. Quite why this size was adopted is any ones guess, but it was, and is now the standard for sight threads on metric sights, iris's, lens hood tubes etc, and is used by all the modern sights and accessory manufacturers.
