Hawke Panorama Map6 vs 1/2 Mil Dot Difference?????

Does anyone happen to have one of each of the above and if so can you tell me what the differences are in the reticles and if one's thicker / easier to see than the other????

Map6 has oval mil-dots (three iirc), no half mil-dot. Map 6A has only stadia lines instead of dots. 1/2 mil-dot has round markers at full mil-dots with stadlia lines at every half mil-dot.

I've actually just take delivery of one with the Map6a reticle and I couldn't get to grips with it, in case it was my "older" eyes I asked my 18 yr old to have a try and he said you can either focus the reticle OR the target but not both (same problem I was having)..... seems like I've got a dud!!!!
