May as well use full power and be backstop aware.

I occasionally use my hw30s with a 4x scope and rws super points, this puts out 6.5 ftlbs. For very specific pests at very close range where over shoot is not wanted. That said, only because my 'lowest' power 22 is doing 9.5 - 10 ftlbs and still a bit OTT !

Actually I am the farmer in question but I take your point, The Super H Points take most of the worry away but I do pay attention to the back stop, like if a rat was on my tractor bonnet with the windscreen behind it, I'd set the dogs on that one.

    177

Hi there my friend uses an fac in 177 but he used to shoot pigeons with a mid power off ticket rifle . he had to keep the beams of the barn in between so as not to go through the roof.

.177 does over drill at close range. I find the dropping power increase the further away the quarry is 3specially against certain quarry like woodies.

I switched to hollow poi t for closer stuff and a lower power rifle in .177 will also help.

If it is dedicated to barn or close range ratting I would definitely consider a .25 ove4 a .22 but I do little so I just rely on didstance and the hollow points.
In a battle of wits I refuse to engage with an unarmed person.
To one shot one kill, you need to seek the S. Kill only comes from Skill
