    Bsa meteor hybrid

Just picked up a much abused bsa meteor mk3 in a split mk1 stock! It looks as if its been stood in a damp place with a good deal of rust! Now my questions are has anyone else seen such an odd hybrid? Does anyone have a cocking lever? And would people reblue it or just spray black?

I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it.

    Some pictures may help.

I have a MK5 .177 which has a plastic plate on the butt-is this normal? It has holes in the barrel for the rear sight but the sights are on the rear of the scope rail. In total I have 5 Meteors but this one looks really slender and rather different.

Think there was a version of the Meteor made for army cadets and scouts...sure it had the rear sight fitted back along the scope rail? ..and may have had a little diopter sight that fixed to the top of the standard rearsight?...perhaps yours is one of those guns?

    The stock is back together!
Now it had previously been screwed into position do I leave the horrible miss matched semi rounded screws remove them all together or use brass ones so it shows its been repaired?

Also other than evil bay John knibbs and chambers does anyone know of a cocking arm and pin for it?

I have a mk1 Meteor stock (no cracks, split or rot, but could do with scraping and refinishing) and an almost complete action with all trigger bits, piston, spring, etc. even has the breech block and cocking link. The only things missing are the barrel and sights...you can have it for £20 plus postage if it's any good to you?...all you would have to do is use the barrel on your present gun...

Remember, barrel is not included...barrel actually snapped off the brazed joint and was used in another project.
