    That's the one..I have got me some 55gr to tide me over till my ticket comes back but according to it that can be up to 7 months away. I really wanted to try these 53gr just to see how they worked in my gun, but alas no joy

    Great little bullet, they shoot very well in my Tikka T3 223. Shooting at 3,270fps using 24.8gr of Vhit 133

    At the risk of sounding controversial have you tried 52gn A max? Very similar BC

    no I have not...but with a lower BC than the blitzkings I'm already using it kinda defeats the object

    the 55gr blitzkings are .270 but I just wanted to try the 53gr v max at .290 (allegedly)

    but all this is immaterial as my ticket runs out in the matter of hours and cant get any till it is renewed, which is a long way off apparently!! oh well

    Do you not get a covering letter when you cert is received for renewal? In NI when firearms dept receive our cert for variation or renewal they post out a covering letter which allows us to continue to purchase ammo and do one on one off gun transactions while its away?

    covering letters are not ditched out as it shows how useless the police are at doing their jobs.makes them look bad.

    its a 1 in 9...I know its suited better to heavier bullets, but I still wanna try em.

    James I was always under the impression that here in the good ol west midlands, when ya ticket runs out that's it no chance of buying anything.

    The 53's need a tighter twist so 1:9 should be fine, thats what mine is and shoots them fine, although I prefer 69gn TMK.

    They're the best bullet in my Tikka T3 and it's a 1:12 twist

    Tikka T3 Varmint .223; .204 Ruger CZ527 Varmint;

    My Tikka T3 1 in 12" would not shoot 53grn vmax but was bullet on bullet with 40grn.
