    BSA Ultra

Untill last week I have never even held a PCP let alone shoot one. I'm more than happy with my Springer and besides I prefer pistols.

However when a guy at work offered me is BSA Ultra for very little money I thought yeah, why not. The simple fact that I've worked with the guy for a couple of years and have already brought a Crosman Ratty of him, which was just fine thank you, plus he was more than happy for me to try it before I made any desision all set my mind at ease.

First impressions were mixed. I like the black, tactical look, its not beat up and there are no major chuncks or scraches anywhere. It will come with a sling and BSA branded bag but, alas, no scope or silencer. The barrel looks very short! It's got some air init so I can 'test' it right away. Fogot to mention its the single shot version in .22.

Time always seems to be a limiting factor but I did manage to mount a spare, non-discriped, scope and try a few shots. Within minuets I was starting to get a good group but then had to leave it.

So my question to those who have had, own, use PCP's for £100 is it worth a punt?

I know I need a silencer (it's LOUD!) and a way of charging it. I'm also looking at it as a way to get into PCP's with a possible good part-ex value. I might even learn to love it LOL.

    Thoughts?

Love my ultra, at £100 buy your mates!

Add £100 - £150 for a pump/bottle depending on whether you buy new or used, add £50 ish for a silencer ( Mines got a Weihrauch one and it's brilliant) add £10 for pellets (Mine loves JSB Exacts)....

For £200 you have a brilliant set up.

You won't get another option to buy a proven popular rifle for that sort of money again.

In many ways it was a loaded question (no pun), because it is clean, tidy, shoots, holds air and a true bargain I will have it. Stupid not to.

Perfect introduction into PCP's. Can't loose out.

Thanks for your input however. I've been a member for ages but not posted because I wasn't 100% confident I would enjoy getting back into shooting, this time with airguns but I think I can safely say that is now a given.

Sounds like a potential bargain to me mate. Nice and easy to recharge with a stirrup pump, takes just a couple of minutes. Leaving just a scope and you're good to go....

Sounds like a steal. Just make sure it wasn't. I would want to know what good reason there is to sell it too. Good luck

Well no great suprise I brought it! Added bonus he had a dig about and found a silencer!

I have no worries that the deal is legit. Like I mentioned, I work with the guy and he was more than happy for me to take it and try, which I have done. Not sure if the reason for sale was lack of time, place to shoot or needed the cash. Whatever the reason I'm a happy camper!

Because this is my first PCP and currently have no way of charging the suppy I've found a local RFD and had it filled. Also had a quick check over and all seems like it should be.

Taken the scope off my spinger, a 6-24X50 Mil-Dot. Not the best in the World but it will do for now. Managed to zero it in easily enough in between the rain showers!

Sounds a fantastic deal. Please find one for me as I'm looking for something similar right now.
    Good shooting
