    Moterbike chain grease

    Hi as any one tried racing motor bike chain grease in there springer in stead of molly a guy at my club said it's like sticky treacle and doe's not come off very high reving chains
    I ask as I remember some old bloke use to make up realy sticky black tar stuff for springers I expect he's long gone now along with his recipe to make it so can I have your thought on this chain grease malarkey from Frank in Dover

    Chain Grease is usually 40% Moly and 15% graphite. In my opinion quite suitable for metal to metal contact. The aerosol ones have thinners so use sparingly or it runs everywhere.

    Molyslip (AS60) is 60% molybdenum disulphide. Better for burnishing into bare metal.

    It's great stuff on springs,best used by spraying on to a degreased clean spring then a light spraying then leaving over night , letting thinning agent evaporate off.

    Thank you seagate I see the light now spray on grease "well I never" not black tar then. Still will bear in mind at summers end and maintenance time from frank in Dover
