    Powder pan for Lyman scales

Bought a set of used Lyman scales...no powder pan...any idea where I might find a replacement pan..preferably at less than the cost of the scales!

Are you talking about a balance scale or a digital scale?

My RCBS digital scale came without a powder pan so I bought a 10ml lab beaker off the bay of e ( ) which works fine. For a balance scale, not sure.

I use empty 177 pellet tin bottom halfs
Balanced with blue tack to all the same weights & dispense into those for use in a chargemaster

If it's a beam scale you will need to recalibrate the tare weight when you get a new pan, even the exact Lyman pan will not be the correct weight. It's easy enough to do.

Or, you could take the opportunity to get a Lyman plastic pan with the built in funnel - you will still need to re-tare the scale anyway.

    Scales Lyman

Beam scales...I can see from the scales that I will need a correct weight pan. The pan holder has lead shot inside it which presumably can be adjusted. I have e mailed Lyman, usa for details of any uk supplier. Tried my rcbs pan..far too heavy to get a balance. The Lyman pan is probably aluminium.

Ok, what number scale is it? D-7, D500, Pro 500, M5? Have you tried your RCBS pan when you have removed all your lead shot?
