Quick BSA Ultra Pellet Test .177

    See here:

All at 25 yds, surprisingly the RWS Superdomes out performed the JSB Exacts!

Don't think I'll be using the Hollowpoint Extras !

Just did it out of interest. The JSBs are the 4.52

To properly pellet test you'll need a clean barrel, leaded up with just that particular pellet

I suggest you try jsb heavy (10.34) and hw magnums in your BSA, and yep Superdome get an unfair panning from some well known air gunsmiths even, but their opinions are out of date now -

I find Superdomes are often accurate, but their BC is quite poor...
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

This wasn't by any means scientific but should be a fairly good indicator. The bigger JSBs might do better, I think the BSA barrels prefer them.

    Exactly what he said.
They seem to work at least OK in everything, even the older .22's - I use them in my Airsporter & a Mercury, but take the range out to 30+M they just fall off the card. Shame.

Late edit - I did notice the OP was talking about .177.

If it helps anyone else, just had delivered JSB Exacts 4.53

No need to try anything else, I can't see how they can be beaten. A ragged hole at 25 yards.

Seems the BSA Ultra likes the bigger pellets
