I agree with everything that's been said about a S200 but if you wanted to push the boat out an S510 is the easiest rifle to cock with a side lever, same as a HW100. Not as lightweight as the S200 but so easy to use.
Someone said house work wont kill you, but I say 'why take that chance'

You mean having to move your hand away from the trigger to cock and load every shot?!

How tedious, laborious and time consuming.

Yes but we aren't defending ourselves against waves of advancing jihadis.

We're shooting paper, spinners and maybe a bunny or two.

How are you getting on with it Captain?

How many shots do you get from the longer cylinder?

Does anybody make a quick fill to go on the end?

    I'm very tempted myself.

Just waiting for the euro to collapse.

I second that. It is one of the most under rated PCPs becuase it doesn't have bells and whistles. If the OP wants a solid gun with magazine then I would stick my neck out and suggest HW100.
Around £725.00 for the walnut stock version what one gets with this gun is difficult to beat.

The Brocock Contour is another that should be in the mix.
Small, light,Quiet and clinically accurate in .177.
Around the same price as an S200,and they hold their value well.

So, I was wondering about a PCP with a moderator. What would you folks recommend as a good value starter PCP?

My missus much prefers BSA Ultra over S200 (me too wwe've had both) Value wise I'd suggest a s h BSA, ideally old Scorpian bang for your money so to speak, and get it blueprinted (or reggd if you like that kinda thing)

    S200

I look forward to reading opinions of the S200 with adjustable/ ambi stock. I enjoy my S400 but due to a eye problem I now shoot left eye. Time for change..... hence my interest in the S200.
Not being in regular employment, the S200 may be achievable....... 60th birthday soon, cash presents only, I wish
Sell the unworn socks, slippers etc then try a green stocked S200. Please let my wife be looking over my shoulder and be reading this!

I discounted the HW100 for the wife because of its weight; the AA S200 and BSA Ultra are far better for the 'slighter' shooter (have to be careful not to fall foul of the 'equal opportunities' people here.

Hatsan AT44 is worth a look.
You can spend thousands and still miss a barn door or spend just enough and enjoy yourself. If you haven't got the talent to start with a million pound won't fix it. Whippet, Russell, a few bang sticks and a flat cap. http://www.smart-tech1st.co.uk

I bought my wife a Brocock Contour fitted with a little bug buster scope, ULTRA light in the hand. I took it rabbit shooting a few weeks ago, compared to even my Ultra let alone my HW100, it was a total pleasure to carry around. My wife however prefers clay shooting so it will be going soon.

If you a low price PCP take a look at the SMK PR900W the .22 can fire 11.5ft lbs only 5lbs in weight and you can get them for under £200.00. The only downfall is that you need to charge them every 30/35 shoots. I also took a SMK M22 to my shooting club last week ,every one was impressed with it.
