    Walther 6x42 scopes

Looks like the jsr have bought up a surplus of 6x42 ao Walther scopes, split offs from Century kits maybe ?

Anyway for £32 got to be useful, I'm expecting a typical China Value Scope quality, any comments welcome, and as much a heads up on cheap new scope, as not much around to match that at mo ..

The one I have, which came free with a rifle, is actually a surprisingly nice scope.

And I rather like the semi-German post style reticule. I find target acquisition is much faster with it than with a duplex.

Much better than you'd have a right to expect considering the low price.

What is their Parallax distance, I'd like something to fit on a Fenman ?
    Thanks.

They are parallax adjustable at the objective lens.

At £32, they're exceptional VFM. I have one that came as part of a Walther Century kit and its very good.

I've had a couple and as Arthur says they're bloody good for the money. They are quite heavy though.

Got one and they are suprisingly good.

Nice wide angle view and bright as well.

The ret is a German style (3 large posts with a cross hair). For the money it really isn't bad at all.

Its a nice scope for the money even better when it comes with the Century.I was surprised how clear & bright it was for a budget scope.

I suppose they are Made In China etc but they are made to quite a high standard and have been around for quite a few years now. JSR (Ramsbottoms) used to sell an extensive range at least 10 years ago.

They are solidly built and have good glass, the only downsides perhaps being the reticle (most suited to a Hunter) and the weight. I cannot say whether they would stand-up to a Springers' 2-way recoil (which would be largely about the lens/element mounts) but their weight would not be too good on a Springer, in my opinion.

The scope is OK for a springer.

Not sure how long the supplied mounts would last though.

I used them for a while and they seemed OK, but I still replaced them with Sportsmatch ones.

    Just for peace of mind.
