Melbourne MM Fair date 26th Nov

Just copied this from another site,

Just a heads up for this excellent event...more details to follow but there will be more tables than ever...if you want to book a table contact Phil ...his details are on the Melbourne Marksmen website...plenty of pic's of previous events too...

I am sure most members in this section are aware of the superb event that takes place normally twice a year in Derbyshire, but just in case you have missed it, make a note in your diary now

Apart from loads of collectable and modern guns/spares being offered, the very generous organisers donate quite a lot to the RBL and are a very friendly bunch, even though they are well North of Watford.

Thank you MM for heilping to keep our sport alive.

We (Rivington Riflemen) did a similar fair a few months ago (http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....ight=Adlington) in aid of Cancer Research and in memory of my pal Ray Ross.
Like the Melbourne event which I have attended a few times, it was a great day out. I bought some bargains, sold some tat , had a great laugh and even got some one with the 'smelly grease' trick.

    Go for it!

Luckily we had a club member heavily involved in his local community centre. We just had to persuade him, with threats of violence and my jokes, and bingo!

    Hmm.

There are plenty of clubs around here with clubhouses and indoor range attached for added floorspace that would be ideal.

On the assumption that the tables have now been allocated may I make a suggestion, please. If when setting up we enter by the first door it would save walking down the narrow passage with long gunboxes, negotiating 2 right angle bends with the same as necessitated by using the second entrance. It seemed daft to me last time but there appeared to be two guards posted to stop this short cut. If there's a sensible reason then fair enough. But I'd love to hear it.

We're about due for a 'Who's bringing what?' Post so I'll start the ball rolling with a pair of Britannias, one of each.

If there was a sign outside saying "Payment of £3 entry fee entitles entrant to 25% discount" last time (Don't know what made me think there was) please leave it at home.

'Fraid not, John. I've never actually seen a Britannia Pistol. In fact didn't know they'd made one. To be fair I bought a Greener before I'd ever seen one. It was very late in an auction with no viewing during the sale. I had better things to do than wait 4 hours for it to come up so I bid blind. My Britannias are a regular and an Improved. I might bring the Greener as well.

    See you there, Mick

I could always bring the one I made that says 'If you think we get everything for nothing, get it delivered by magic and don't have to pay £20 to stand then carry on making stupid bids'.

Just my take on it, Mick
