What a great find and a proper bargain too,not jealous in the slightest Atb Phil
Picked this up, and think I did OK for £70 ...

Just asked Webley if they can date it by the batch and number under the grip.

Avery nice find and a bargain too at that price.
Nice to find it with the spare barrel complete with linkage, plus the overstickers on the box front label.
Well done.
Webley will not be able to date it from the batch number.
The number under the top of the left grip is the complete batch number, with the usually three numbers on the front of the spring guide being the last three digits of that number.
Yes! a real bargain!
It looks to have the longer knurling on the barrel, that together with
the prewar box with over stickers suggests that the pistol is post war and made before September 1949
at which time the knurling was shortened to finish before the linkage.
ATB Chris.
Even I would have bought that - then quickly sold it on.

Oh no .. not selling it. Buying the Webley Pistol book and starting collecting them ! Then there's the FAS coming from Mark on Thursday ... it's just so easy when the take up so little space Seriously though, I like the idea of collecting, but using them too By the time I visit RR I'll need a hand carying them from the car
Is the grip not shown in the photo blank - ie not marked 'Webley' - ie as on a pre war Senior?
Well done Mike. Are both grips marked Webley? Also, is the barrel linkage marked with the patent number?
Kind regards,
John
Both grips are marked Webley. Can't see anything on the barrels apart from the calibre and a letter S. One of the barrels has less knurling so must have come seperate from the original purchase. The cylinder has Webley Patents written on it. Thanks for the info
Thanks John, much appreciated. Going to shoot it tomorrow with the FWB 80 then they are both going for a service with new seals by DM80. Both lovely guns
Oh dear. Collecting Wobbly pistols. When you do visit Rivi I will personally make you a brew as compensation!
