The worst bit about this is the fact the police go after a H5, a pretty expensive gun that is generally owned by the enthusiast. I wouldn't mind betting my house on the fact the actual guns used by idiots to do wrong are the cheaper end of the market.

Smacks of very sour grapes from someone stirring the police up IMO. Sounds like someone has gone to the police and spouted 'the law' and told them where to find these scary weapons.

Apparently the police are worried about gangsters robbing the local Nat West using their cheap £200 9mm Eastern Europe semi auto pistols so they can get the money to own their dream lp50

My guess is that it was not actually intended to apply to airguns, but just badly worded.

The law should have been clearer than it was.

Then there would have been no need for debate.

I just have this vision of Doyle and Bodie raiding the headoffice of Steyr UK and doing their business, confiscation of illegal weapons, .

I will bet you it isn't and never was. The UK importer didn't bring them in so I guess that would suggest you are wrong and stand to lose the money you spent on it. Many people have quoted guidance and notes but the Firearms act simply states .22 rimfire as being the only semi permissible. The reference to not including air rifles isn't in the act.
You can spend thousands and still miss a barn door or spend just enough and enjoy yourself. If you haven't got the talent to start with a million pound won't fix it. Whippet, Russell, a few bang sticks and a flat cap. http://www.smart-tech1st.co.uk

I'm amazed that crime is so low up there that the police have time for this. I wonder if they will add them to a 'guns of the streets' statistic?

That's all the Brno B96 guns, Drulovs, the Crosman 600, 500 and 451, Steyr pistols and rifles and a whole raft of other stuff now worthless.

The pony club are screwed, ISSF pistol is dead and the world is much harder for the disabled.

Still the industry wanted them gone...

Why would the industry want them gone?

I may be wrong but the UK gun trade all agreed that semi auto airguns (rifled barrels) would not be allowed in the UK.
Pm terry doe on here and he will tell you why.

Time to knock up a smooth bore barrel for the crosman 600 users.. Easy swap
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
