UPDATE @ 01.11.2016: WELL THE COMMITTEE AND THE COUNCIL MET YESTERDAY TO DISCUSS THE SITUATION. FOR MANY MONTHS, THE COUNCIL HAVE PROMISED TO EITHER RENEW OUR LEAS OR RELOCATE AND ASSIST FINANCIALLY IF THEY DO.
THAT HAS BEEN SWEPT ASIDE AND NO MATTER WHAT WE PROPOSED OR SUGGESTED, EITHER PRACTICAL OR ON MORAL OBLIGATIONS WE WERE STONEWALLED AND EFFECTIVELY TOLD TO GO AND SPIN.
THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN SUPPORTING US OR FINDING ANOTHER LOCATION AND WERE TOLD TO GET STUFFED RE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
WE ARE NOT A SMALL CLUB AND WE HAVE A 100 YARD RANGE SO IF WE HAVE NO CLUB, THE SPORT HAS LOST A JEWEL IN THE REGION.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO COMPLETED THE PETITION. TO THOSE WHO DIDNT SHAME ON YOU.
WE ARE LOOKING AT ALTERNATIVE VENUES AND MAYBE WE WILL BE ABLE TO FIND ONE BUT THANKS TO THE COUNCIL OF THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF WINDSOR AND MAIDENHEAD, A GREAT FACILITY MAY DIE.

As a precursor, I note that the posts in Airgun & Rimfire sections have had hundreds of views and only tens of replies.
Now I realise that some who signed may not have posted but we have nearly 1000 hits on bbs alone and only 400 sign ups.
It is sad to say that the worst enemies of shooting in all its forms are the shooters themselves.
So....please.......DONT just read and skip......DO SOMETHING POSITIVE AND CAST YOUR VOTE...MAKE YOUR MARK.....COCK YOUR LEG UP ON THE LAMPOST....BUT DONT WALK ON BY......Thanks

DON'T TARMAC 110 YEARS OF HISTORY. AN E PETITION

as per the E Petition below, we would ask ALL shooters on the BBS if they could spare a few minutes to read and sign the petition below to try and save or at least get the club some breathing space before the local council force the club to shut with only 3 months notice.

110 years of history down the tubes despite protracted promises by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (RBWM)
to either let us stay and help renovate the current site occupied since 1968....OR to find an alternative site and assist fund relocation and set up of new facilities.

Despite strong and continued promises over 4 or more years over two consecutive threats to re use the land for other purposes, the council consider it OK to totally renage and give use 3 months notice to quit and turn us into a car park that wont be built for 2 years. It doesnt even have planning permission.

So please.....irrespecti e of your sport or discipline, PLEASE take some time to read and sign the petition and leave a comment for the council. Even if it is a 12 month renewal.....it will at least give us some chance to find a new location.

Signed. If you look at the history of Wigan Target Sports Club .. when their land that they leased from the council was threatened from an Asda expansion ... Asda completely funded the buying of land and building of modern two storey premises in return. Much better than the old sheds !
