    Tau 7 questions.

    Hello peeps

1st time in this section of the bbs. Got a few questions regarding the Tau 7 target pistol.

1, Can you still use them at competition level.
2, Is accuracy effected by the sort of temperatures we commonly incounter in the UK.
3, How much should a good used example (match) set you back.

Apologies for asking questions that have probably been asked before.

    Many thanks for looking.

    Probable answers:
    1) Yes (depending on the level of Comp)
    2) Not significantly (assuming comfortable temperature at the range)
    3) ROM 2/3 of new Match price. Older versions of the MATCH are more highly prized. Standard Tau 7, cased with all the weights etc...typically around £250 here on bbs.

Yana may be along soon with a better explanation/more details

I used my standard Tau7 (not the match model) in 10m matches and competitions for about ten years with extremely good results before moving on to a Morini. I would recommend the Tau to anyone considering taking up serious match shooting and I reluctantly sold it almost three years ago for £215.

    Thanks AC99

So is the model referred to as the Match that is currently available, actually a standard model?....is there any difference?. Still love the look of all the different models mind!

Post #2 of THIS thread mentions that all the MATCH versions have a selected barrel; probably other differences. The thread also mentions that the vast majority of pistols sold are the Standard...which are very good!

    Thanks Aimstraight

Very informative. Shame about the ambiguity on Tau's behalf.
