Of course. The simplest way is to take a recipe that uses a relatively fast powder which generates relatively high pressures and download it a grain or two so that it is still burning completely but the speed has dropped. Vectan AS is ideal for this in the average 12gauge recipe, all relative to the shot weight obviously.
20gauge subs are my thing, I use Vectan A0 for 30gram subs there.
