A small billiard ball and a length of brass rod?

Do you have access to a wood turner, someone with woodworking gear or someone who does? The local school or trade training centre?

The wheel off a wooden truck or such and a length of the above brass rod. A drill and bit plus adhesive or use brass woodscrew. Fasten then cut the head off then finish with a file or the wifes' emery boards?

Craft shops usually stock wooden balls of near enough the right diameter, and brass rod as well.

I have searched but cant find his name.
