Sportsmatch 1" one piece medium droop compensation mount

I don't want an adjustable mount (in fact I already have one that I don't use) because they are too high for my requirements.

The Sportsmatch medium 1" droop compensation mount looks like the one I'm after. Just the right size.

I'm worried though that it has single screw rings.

Do you think it will hold the scope sufficiently securely on a 12fpe springer? I suppose Sportsmatch think so or they wouldn't have made it.

Surprised they don't do a double screw version though.

    Anybody got one?

You could have a look on Michael Tawn's website for a double screw 1 piece mount. If he does not have one listed on his site, contact him for advice. I've found him to be helpful in the past.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've checked both the Sportsmatch and Tawn websites and our sponsor, and it looks like Sportsmatch don't do a medium double screw droop compensating mount.

    Hence my question.

Why do you think single screw gives you less grip? Think about it a bit.

....and if you're still concerned, have a go at lapping the rings to maximise contact between the rings and the scope. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTIY9cZlpPs

I've never needed to do this, I use Optilocks (that have an insert), but any old knackered scope (of the right size) could be used as a 'bar'....

    Thanks for the replies.

Suck it and see appears to be the best option.

I'll try with a cheap scope first.

Not sure what you are getting at Rob. Sorry if I'm being thick.

Yes several, and have used on fac springers too with no probs. You don't need 8 bolts on a one piece mount on a springer, or not on one that's correctly set up. If uncle bodget has put a full length titan in bsa supersport, different kettle o fish
