    Ox spring works fantasticly

I had a delrin tophat that was sort of squished and molded into the top of the piston on a TX. It must have been a little too large to begin with. I tried several springs that were a tight fit to grab and pull it out, but none worked. I pulled out an old Ox square section that was tight on the tophat. I used my Dremel to cut a half coil off at the reverse angle of what would be needed if you wanted to actually use the spring. I pushed it down in the piston and twisted it, forcing the chisel end I created to dig in, and out came the offending tophat. Joking aside, I have to admit that this very spring did perform very well in a MarkI TX. It was in the gun when I bought it used, but I swapped it out and found that it wasn't quite as good as I thought.

There was an Ox spring in a mk2 TX I bought a couple of years ago. It surprised me, it worked very well.

Found they worked well in my Mercury/635s BUT after a few years you notice the edges of the square section have been chipped.... hmmm wonder where the metal went?

I have a Mercury which has been working smoothly and accurately for years and surprise, surprise, it has a square section Ox spring inside.

Many years ago, I put an Ox in a Mercury. Not a pleasant experience - replaced it the next day...
