Well thanks to everyone on here who gave me advice on getting a shoot...
Couple of months ago, farmer's daughter told me to come back, late August to enquire re shooting rights...
Took the chance on tonight, and caught farmer spreading $hit on the field, after 1/2 an hour's good chat about what I was after he regretably told me he had enough shooters, but told me to come back on a regular basis to see if there was a space if another shooter dropped out.
He said he always liked to be a good neighbour and was really sorry that he couldn't have another shooter..
I went smart, was polite, explained my method, produced my BASC documents and told him I had been watching the field and its exploding rabbit population (hence preparation).
He thanked me, and told me I had made the right approach and be sure to come back, he was very hesitant to say no.
So top marks to you all for the advice, and I will keep plugging away at farmer! (so to speak)
