    Original 45 Mystery Part

Good evening and merry Christmas to all. Can anyone familiar with the 45 identify this part which I found loose when removing action from stock? Rifle is operating normally.

Thanks, Mr To. This was my go-to but I am unable to identify it here with certainty.

It belongs underneath the height adjustment wheel from the rearsight.
Should prevent the wheel from turning at random.

Thanks very much for your help, Frank. I bought this 45 recently as a project and I did notice the elevation adjustment wheel is missing.
The rifle is pretty rough but salvageable. It's marked as a "Gecado".

Rifle was probably shipped to South Africa or Australia before it ended up back here if it has Gecado name. Seen quite a few over in these countries with the Gecado name instead of Diana or Original.

That is my understanding as well, Baz. S.A. and Aus/NZ. But I wonder if a few batches of Gecados came direct. They do pop up quite often here and in the U.S. as well. It would have steered round the Diana trade mark problem, still.
Anyway, I'm glad I got it as my other 45 has started misbehaving.
