Face to Face Deals/Distance Travelled ?

Not an airgun story but similar circumstances resulting from the 'political correctness' madness that we all have to endure.
I recently did a 500+ mile round trip to collect three antique swords from an auction house, because their packing /carrier company has a policy of not handling 'Dangerous Weapons'. I did know the situation before I bid on them because It's not my first time, but the auctioneers don't make it clear in their catalogues.

In November I did Exeter to the outskirts of Southport & back for a tool cabinet, & a few years back Exeter to York & back (with a trailer) for a quad bike, both cost less than I've paid for rifles sent RFD-RFD.

But OTOH shipping those items would have cost a hell of a lot more than shipping the rifles .
