    Thanks Frank for putting the pics up. As you can see its not in too bad condition now all the brown paint is removed. I guess its definatly beech then, that's why I took pic with my 35E as a comparison. I've also got a std 35 that is beech, but the thumbhole looks nothing like that. In answer to 'how does it handle' it's ok, seems very point able with the thumbhole stock, but it's a bit of a pain when you realise you havnt pushed the safety off when you go to take a shot, as I'm right handed and I have to sort of unravel my hand from the stock to push it off, rather than just using your thumb as normal.     35 thumbhole

    These were only made for 12 months I understand 1977 - 78 and only came in beech. Hope that is some help? Mach 1.5

    Don't know if that is true as I have 2 of them and they are from 1975 and 1976?
    Bisides that the catalogues show them as late as 1990 ……………..

    Ah - the illusive HW35 Safari. It took me years to find one. Its not the nicest '35 by any means but I needed one for the set.

    Perhaps the 35 Thumhole was available on the foreign market a lot later and just not imported into the U.K.
