    308 sizing.

I cast lead bullets which i size down to .311 for my old Enfield. Im hanging my nose over a 308 and got to thinking can i size the same cast bullet down to fit the 308 too. Any one doing that. ???

    308

    I use .310 in my K98 7.62,
so sizing down what you have should not be a problem, unless the mould has shallow lube grooves,
you should cast a soft lead bullet and force it through and it will give you the size of your barrel,
you may get a surprise at the result,
.311 for .303, most guys size them .313/.314 for lead,
but if it works for you stick with it,

Many Thanks TALL. Will slug the barrel when i get sorted then we will see what we can do. My Enfield came out at .310 and shoots very well with a .311
gas checked bullet made from old wheel weights. I bought the rifle as unfired and so far am chuffed to bits with it. Keeps em all in the black at 300yds with
privy factory but i find the sights hard work. Had a go with a mates Remington 700 based Accuracy international witch was very nice but way out of my
financial reach, unless i can do a deal with him. Tim

    Don't bother, shoot as is. I size .310" for both my .308 (.3072") and my K31 (.3089").
