The biggest danger with RM/Parcelfarce is that they X-ray the package, spot that it's a gun with a pressure vessel (PCP) and then fly it to Belfast for destruction - this happened to me. I'd sold a gun and I had to pay the buyer his money back.
Well if things happen in threes, this sounds like your third.
FWIW most folks now go for face to face on these sorts of deals. I've done a few, meeting in motorway service carparks at early O'Clock on a Sunday.
Good luck for the rest of the year.
    That's my worry as well

Whenever I've used parcel force and tracked the order it always says the parcel is at the post office from which I sent it until it gets delivered.....never any sort of tracking in between....useless they are

The x Ray bloke must be pretty astute to recongnise a pcp compared to springer, considering thousands of parcels must be going through. The two guns I sold recently got to their destination in 24 hrs on the parcel force 48 hr delivery.

Firstly, hello Andy, long time no cyber speak. I am so sorry to learn of your run of grim woe ... Please let me attempt to put your mind at rest a little, here, as my only experience of a PF parcel being sent for investigation was accompanied by an info up-date on the PF system to that effect, which if that was the case, you would have been informed of. No info on their system suggests a genuine (and hopefully temporary) loss of the parcel.

To reinforce this, cast your mind back to the PF debacle surrounding the BSA Mercury I sold you several years back. You may remember that parcel, too, went missing in their system without a trace, yet a week later it appeared with an apology, so don't throw the 'hope' towel in just yet, buddy, as the fat lass is still singing.

When I wS selling off my collection last year I claimed loads back from PF for late deliveries. Most you can get is 3 quid odd but that's nearly 25%. I claimed back on nearly a dozen late deliveries. Longest was 7 days.
    Fingers crossed for you buddy

I've honestly had absolutely no problems sending or receiving anything Parcel Force or RM SD. I did have a chat with a PF depot manager recently who told me the company has and still is rooting out the dishonest, lazy courier drivers and bringing in new staff who actually care about their daily consignments. Also the tracking can be a bit worrying especially when it says 'parcel not recognised' or something like that. But even then by the next morning when I've rang and spoken to someone in their offices, they have always discovered what's going on and put my mind at rest. Good diligent professional British workers, and Its nice to be able to say that hand on heart. The only thing I'd say to the OP; did you get a photo of the sellers proof of postage showing the tracking number clearly? If not, that would be my next step if I were him
I'm sure this'll be resolved in time once PF get stuck into it.

yup, I wouldn't assume it;s lost yet either - some have taken a week to get to me...
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
