While not airgun related, we have a very local garden machinery place which sells ride on mowers, chainsaws etc. All top end stuff.

I recently found that mice had taken a liking to the rubber priming bulb on my petrol hedge trimmer. So I pop off to my local supplier to get a new one.

£7.99 he says....

After I regain consciousness and get up off the floor, I elect to put the hedge trimming off for a day or two and buy the bulb on . £1 for 2 from a UK address, delivered in 2 days, £1 for 10 from Hong Kong, delivered in 2 weeks.

There's margin and there's margin....

An 80x mark up is taking the p1ss....

Bearings and belts for mowers are the same. £24 for a drive belt, £4 for the same belt at the 'transmissions' company a few miles away.

Somehow that place keeps going...

We have a very posh 'field sports' shop near us, who charges about 50% more for pellets than online and Sportsman's (who are 20 miles away), but air gunning is clearly a small sideline for them.
