If he's still got it at the Bash, I think it will be interesting to compare it with newer .177 HW99's.

I had had a quick look at my new one today, and after firing a few shots, I thought that it didn't feel quite so smooth as my older .22

I took the stock off to see any evidence of wear or galling, but nothing to see.

I took the spring out and that looked ok, properly finished at both ends, and no swarf anywhere, but not much lube.

I cleaned the spring and the guide, then slopped some lube over them and re-assembled it, and everything does feel a bit smoother.
Firing cycle is a firm 'thwock', with no twang or nastiness

The following is cut n paste from page 16 of this thread and is Micks (T20) advice on the Boinger Bash sales thread:



"There is a fourteen day sales section ruling which means sales ads should only run for fourteen days before being allowed to dissapear off the front page.
This rule is not strictly enforced by the moderation team at present and adverts that run for a full month aren't seen to be causing any problems to the flow of the sales section.

So with this in mind I reckon we'd be best if we only start a Boinger Bash sales thread four or five weeks before April so as not to upset other vendors."
