    I kind of get what you mean. And the Sport was a vaguely serious suggestion - it does have a simple elegance to it. But, as you suggest, I really don't care what the non-visible bits look like if it works well, and the rifle with stock attached looks nice.

    Also I can think of a number of engineering solutions in various fields that are elegant to look at, but don't work as well as the elegance of design suggests.

    Yes I have been looking at the PS and was wondering why that alloy thing is fitted in the first place, wouldn't a simple cylinder hinge pin have been better and more reliable, perhaps someone can explain to me what I am missing
