    Gamo GX40

Hi all, I’ve just bought a new Gamo GX40 and find it quite heavy to use. This is supposed to be the lighter oh the Gamo pcp rifles?.

3.8kg / 8lb bare is pretty light and every rifle has it's own particular balance and 'feel'.
I shot a GX40 / 50mm scope / HW silencer and it felt a little front heavy but not 'heavy' by a long shot, stock too narrow all over for my preference feeling 'tippy'... found the Phox to be a similar deal.
    Good rifles imho.

I expected them to be lighter too. Heavy can have it's advantages though

If you take the weights of 'Sporting' (Long tube / barrel) air-rifle / scope / mod and average them out, it'll be pretty close to 10 1/2lbs / be in a bracket of 9lb - 11lb.
Weight can be a huge advantage given 2 things:
A: If it's in the right place.
B: If you can support it.

Lots of rifles seems to weigh alot more than they need to and all are being made around 3.5-3.9kg lately

I think the GX40's are 3.2 kg and the full length Coyote I know for certain is 3.8 kg
3.2 kg is only 5.5 lbs - so it's not a heavy gun by any means although quite a few scopes are right porkers these days and can easily add another 2lbs with mounts.

I stand corrected on the conversion.
