    BSA Dating Service

Noticed this BSA guns information and dating service now being offered by John Knbbs. Sounds a bit expensive, but then if you really need to know maybe not.

It is the only way to precisely date airguns produced after WW1, as BSA stopped issueing and despatching them in strict chronological order. so, they have a monopoly on the information.

Medium/High demand v very limited supply = high price

I'm sure that there are circumstances where the service will justify the fee with regard to oddbals and variations ( I'm referring to the guns, not the collectors), but although I'm keen to know the period of manufacture that the serial number can usually tell me I'm not too interested in knowing the exact day that my mass produced gun came off the line.

    Hi Mel,

Congratulations on your 1000th post. No coconut I'm afraid, but here's to the next 1000.

    Regards
