177 heavy pellet recommendations

I use bismags as they suit my barrel perfectly, If the jsb's shoot well in yours you may not find another as accurate, get a sample pack from Rich and have some fun, you may find 'the' pellet

If your barrel likes JSB great, best pellet imo
My other rifles that shoot h&n made heavies best, favour the Weihrauch branded / designed ones best, which shot tighter than Barracuda Match and Bis Mag etc in my older BSA's. The newer BSA's seem to digest the jsb pellet, above

Can't really add any more to the previous comments - JSB Heavies work best for me, very closely followed by Bisley Magnums.

My daystate likes the daystate heavies slightly better at range over the jsb (slightly mine)

My Bsa R10 .177 super carbine is not pellet fussy but I prefer to use heavy pellets.

I calculated the bc of the Jsb exact heavy .177 as 0.0271.
The Bisley/H&N I came out with 0.0245 bc

Exact heavy at 10.34gr and Bisley mags/H&N Barracuda 10.65gr match produce the same power in my rifle. They are very close in accuracy terms but the Jsb's fly flatter and in my case have a better bc. The Bisley/H&N are more consistent over the chrono but you don't notice it at the target.

My Jsb's are roughly 10.30gr avg and the Bisley mags are 10.49 avg the Barracuda match are 10.67gr on avg.

They all drop vermin really well, cant fault the JSB exact heavy the Bisley/H&N pellets are a very tough pellet and transport well and don't damage easily.

I might take a look at these, currently using JSB exacts or AA Diablo.
Can I ask how they compare at distance, much of a drop?

Very roughly, on 10x mag a JSB Exact needs 2 mildots at 50 metres, and the Exact Heavy takes 3 mildots and a bit, if both are zeroed at 25 yards. That's what I find in my Airwolf, anyway.

Very accurate at distance I tested at 55 yards, what I did notice was how well they did in the wind. They do drop a little more but at normal hunting distances up to 35 yards they are a sound performer.

Longest shot I have taken a rabbit with one is 40 yards and it rolled straight over with barely a twitch. I don't push past 45 yards so can't comment from a hunting perspective at any longer distances.

They remind me of H&N sniper mediums, so they might also might be worth a try being around the 8.5gr mark if drop is a concern.

I get a BC for the JSB Heavies close to 0.029 in my KT 100 and very accurate over any distance up to 80 yards but both the Bis Mags and Barracuda Match are a disaster. The Heavies deliever a hefty punch at distance so I guess they are prime hunting pellets if accurate in ones barrel.

If your gun was FAC I would have asked you to try the H and N Piledrivers. At 21 grs and shaped like a barrel these have a BC of 0.08 so retain energy very well but not much use in sub 12 unless you are ratting at under 15 yards. They also come in .22 but they weigh a hefty 35grs so 40+ ft.lbs guns are required to throw them out of the barrel.
You should hear the thump when they impact and the way these mushroom is a bit like a .22 LR HP.
