Just got this and I think it may be pretty rare? A factory presentation case for the Hy-Score pistol. I have searched the internet and found only one reference by D T Flecther on a post on another website.
"There are plenty of rare birds for the HS pistols. The "C" (chrome) models are some of the rarest of all American airguns. I've only seen one for sale. In the early years, HS also made a presentation case for the model 800 which is extremely rare. " DT Flecther
I find no picture of one so I have to assume this is the case he is referring to? Anyway it fits my early Hy-Score Target like a glove. Even has the tiny key with it, what are the odds? Now watch 20 pictures of examples come out of the woodwork. Lol

That is certainly the correct case for the Hy-Score. You can find a picture of the case containing a chrome plated pistol with white grips in the Encycloperdia of Spring Air Pistols, page 133, and a detailed article by Larry Hannusch on the same boxed set is in the magazine Airgun Hobby, 2005, volume 2, page16.
A superb and very rare find. It certainly sets off the pistol to perfection.
That's the one. Nice find. Extremely rare, even in the US. Looks like perfect condition.
You need a chrome gun to go with it.

Don't know if you remember I put pics of a chrome one on here before when I upgraded my mates pistol.it was quite a poor performer and I put an internal polyurethane seal inside the piston head. Not sure if the pistol is like this from the factory as the frame is black.

A very tasty combo. Makes me happy just to see a photo of it.
This case really does take a rather common American pistol and just put it in another class. I am amazed how satisfying it is to see my pistol in it. It's construction is so period to the piece. I preticularly like cases of the "English" design with compartments like the Hy-Score.
I acquired my first vintage air pistol, a 1955 Walther LP53 about two years ago, found a awesome pistol case made by a guy in Canada, gutted it and made a "French" style case of it. Though not period it just seemed better than leaving it in it cardboard box?

Hi,
Thanks for sharing the pictures of your lovely Hyscore case which transforms the appearance of the pistol. Like yourself, I prefer to case or box my collection rather than store them in boring old pistol sleeves. If the case or box are original, then so much the better.
I would definitely recommend you obtain a copy of The Encyclopedia of Spring Air Pistols referenced above if you ever get the chance. This is by far the most informative and comprehensive reference source regarding spring air pistols I have ever seen and a must for the serious collector.
Regards
Brian
[QUOTE=Abasmajor;7177620]I just bought Fletcher's new Crosman book cause it covered the era of my 102 and was still available, it seems all these books go out of print and then they are 10 times harder to get than the guns. The above after a search of the internet looks about impossible to get?

Danny wanted some pics of the case. Last night, I did repair the ribbon that had become detached from the lid, this keeps the lid from opening too far. When I saw that ribbon laying on the bottom of the case I thought it might be missing a cover or something, I had no picture of a original. Luckily, it was no big deal. Added another case of period pellets that came with my gun. Here is a slideshow of it completed.
