some times see off cuts of beech wood on the bay auction site
im wanting a bit of beech wood but cant find where to buy it or what to type in google. typing beech wood block just returns loads of hits about tables , laminate floor, work tops etc etc
what its for is the plastic cheek bit on my ultra xl so i can make a beech one as the plastic ruins the look
or if anyone could knock me one up cheap as possible ( (; ) that would be great lol
cheers lads n lasses

If you use beech then you'll have a job matching it to the colour of the stock, unless you varnish it. It won't take stain that well.
If I were you I'd choose a different timber, accept it will have a colour difference, and stain it in its natural colour. Personally I'd make it out of a piece of oak, and stain it with a Georgian oak stain, finish it with Black Bison dark oak polish.

yeah, ive been thinking about the colour problem quite a bit, even thought about hydrodipping it. but to be honest colouring it pink with felt tip pens would look better than it does now lol
Could always visit you local car boot or even recycling place and search out an old chair and use a leg or arm etc. Might work?
