    Hi All

Decided after a long absence (10+years) to get back into the fray. Live just inside the M25 in Uxbridge so for now am just looking to do some plinking in the garden so will be looking to glean as much as I can from everyone's experience as to a suitable pistol / ammo combinations.

Look forward to getting to know you all

    Thanks Paul

Noticed you have a "weihrauch" theme going on...

The HW45 is on my shortlist and would be interested in your thoughts on it

Yeah, I am a bit of a HW fan but I bought a TX200 (full lefty) recently and I think that's my fave. I haven't shot the 45 much to be honest but my early impression are very good. I'm told a little bit of a tune and a lot of practice makes it very accurate at the 'right' distance.

now that's interesting as I was looking at the 97s and the alternatives being the tx200 and the prosport, I sorta would like the 97 as I don't have a weihrauch rifle but do have an aa410.

so whats your take on the tx vs 97

I don't have a 97 Geoff but the 77 that I do have is identical internally. As the 77 is my first rifle and has been used more than the others I think I've 'mastered' it reasonably well but, the TX has proved to be slightly better (to me anyway) in respect to accuracy, balance/hold and looks. I find the fiddly bear trap catch on the TX a bit annoying though.

sorry introduced mouth (fingers) without checking my facts

From the reading I have done it seems that the tx is better out of the box having taken all of the 97's good points and improved on the weaknesses but that bear trap catch does seem to be the thing most people have issues with.

So where do you shoot your rifles?
