RM8 bolt not closing

My Dad cannot close the bolt on his RM8, probe goes forward, does not look bent but the bolt wont go down/lock, he had been using till this happened, no pellet jam, loose screws etc any ideas?

Is the probe O-ring OK? If it is old/stretched it might prevent the bolt going through the magazine or into the barrel.
Does it move right in, but just won't lock? Or only move in part of the way?
Does the probe get through the magazine OK?
Is the magazine lining up OK?

Hello, had a problem with mine, there is a small peg screwed into the bolt that operates the magazine indexing mechanism, it had come loose and the bolt jammed up. The thread was not long enough to hold the peg secure enough. Worth a check I think.
Cured by making a longer threaded pin.
