    BSA Meteor spring swap?

I have a lovely BSA meteor MK1 in beautiful condition but I think the spring has broken as it's grinding when cocking it. My question is - I have a mk3/4 Meteor and it's in fairly poor condition but the firing mechanism is perfect. Is it possible to swap the spring from the mk3/4 into the mk1?
    Many thanks guys

    I believe so.
The later Meteors, MK6 onwards use a slightly different (more powerful?) spring. Chambers list the same spring for the MK1 - MK5 but this then changes for the Mk6.
No harm in trying it ... if the spring fits the piston and spring guide, give it a go.
    Cheers, Phil

As far as I'm aware the Mk1-5 Meteors share the same mainspring 240mm,19mm,13mm.

Protek appear to have plentiful stocks.
