How to accurately fire a Springer with the Artillery Hold

Over the last month I have had a few people ask me what is and how to use the artillery hold.
So I decided to make it the subject of a short video in the hope it will spark conversation and aid those who are unsure.

Many have commented that they have never used it, but use shooting stick or bags. Although they are not actually using the artillery hold, they are obeying its principles of allow the rifle to move rather than gripping it to death.

I enjoy your vids.

This one explains the basics of letting a recoiling rifle move.

Then you have the poor lass in that kneeling position. I know the video was about recoil/hold but the kneeling stance sends out mixed messages.

I find that not wrapping your thumb around the pistol grip (thumb up) works better, my 13yr old mastered it in less than a minute and was soon printing sub 5p sized groups at 23mtrs with my TXhc...

Ps, that was benched by the way as he could hardly lift the rifle...

Most definitely. Try doing it with a .303 or similar and you will know about it Hence why it mentioned military / shotgun training in the video and why people make the mistake of strangling Springers.
