Old Webley Scott identity help needed please

Another one of my inherited air rifle


Its a Webley underlever, has what looks like 'The W or V .... y' stamped on it and underneath 'Mark 3'

Can you see serial number on underside of cocking lever that will date it.Fluted fore end and round serrated tap date it to early 1950s.mk3.

the serial number is 16982 , it would restore easily as its a paint finish, im tempted. the spring is so strong on it to cock
