Fun find: price tag still on pistol - 1950s Hy-score repeater

Looking to fill out my Hy-Score collection and saw a boxed one on the bay, had return policy so took a chance even though pics were minimal. Ended up being about mint, even had price tag sticker on pistol butt. $22.95. The box, price, serial number point to very early gun. The bumper car repeating mechanism looks more interesting than I thought. But the price sticker very cool. Now all I need is that Sporter with multiple barrels!

Yes, its nice to have some history on old guns, especially the original price. I have a minter Smith 78G in the box with receipt from May 1971 $35. Company was Darkens ?

    Hy-scores

I recall buying these pistols new at local sports depots,in the 1970s. They(and Webley Premiers) were $NZ46 a piece. Dealers couldn't move these items.Interestingly,a Crosman Model 38 cost more than a nicely blued Webley at the time! The Walther LP53 was our most expensive air pistol. As a footnote, around the early 80s late 70s I was picking up the likes of Webley Services for around $NZ80...or even a trade of a Sheridan gas rifle foe a boxed Service at one time!!! Sent a lot of BSas and Webley to that old horse trader,Myron!
