Holts had two of these, one an engraved one-off, one standard in their sale last June. Mint, boxed, seemingly unfired. They sold for £320 (plus commission/tax) and £220 (ditto) respectively.

    And they were both .22"s.

If I had one, even in the wrong calibre like yours, I'd want at least £250-275 to consider parting with it. I'd like to say more, but at the end of the day it's still a Vulcan and the Holts prices for mint boxed examples suggest there is simply much less enthusiasm for them than for, say, Centennial Airsporters (which I personally think are hugely over-valued for what they are, but hey-ho, the market says differently).

I owned an SE some years ago and am pretty certain that was a .22 as well.

The MK1 SE was supposed to be in .177 only.
This one had the Gold plated trigger & Walnut stock.

In 1981 there was a SE called Special Export. It was the prize in an AGW competition.

Later on I believe both cals appeared for factory specials with Sporter or Tyrolean stock options.

Chris Thrale's book features a February 1983 Webley price list that quotes for the SE/Custom (different from the Deluxe) in both calibres.

Though he acknowledges that the SE bridged both Series 1 and 2.

But why would they limit the S1 to what at the time was an unpopular calibre?

Were there really only 110 made of these Vulcan SE's?
They seem to start in 1979 listed upto early 1984. You'd say that an edition limited to 110 pieces is sold out in a matter of weeks.
I know the Webley bible states 110 near a picture of the SE on page 125 but maybe it only refers to the first year, 1979? Or they're missing a few zero's???
Just trying to establish real value and how rare it really is ....

Btw, anyone has the original certificate with it? What does it say?
