To me, a traditional looking springer brings to mind break barrels with a great big ugly looking pivoting section on show. I have a TXhc, so I'm happy with how that looks anyway.

I like the Anschutz 335s. I've got three of them. Oh, and the Webley Omega - lovely gun!

My favourite 'looking' springers would have to be, in no particular order:

    HW77K (older model)
    FWB Sport
Air Arms Prosport (original, NOT the fish scale stock)
    BSA Mercury S
    Wyrd bið ful aræd

HW97K Blackline. I just love it.
You can spend thousands and still miss a barn door or spend just enough and enjoy yourself. If you haven't got the talent to start with a million pound won't fix it. Whippet, Russell, a few bang sticks and a flat cap. http://www.smart-tech1st.co.uk

Not sure it could be classed as looking 'old school' or traditional though, surely?

My Pro Sport is a thing of beauty, in my eyes anyway.

Allright. Old school with a modern twist

Best looking break barrel springer I have ever seen was my friend's Original Model 35. This would have been around 1963 and the looks (beautiful walnut stock) and balance were superb. Pretty powerful gun too.

I quite like the design and ergonomics of the latest HW77/97 stocks, a big improvement on the shallow comb original stocks.
I don't like huge target stocks but agree that a stock has to be more functional than looks. The HW80 needs a redesign stock now with a broader, longer fore end(cs500) and higher ambi cheek piece.

But don't you think that if the 80 had a custom look it would loose its classic traditional look
