    ACE PRECISION air rifle

    - on the off chance it is Collectible

I am looking at purchasing a side lever air rifle; it has stamped on the cylinder "Ace Precision Co, Korea"
    and below that "GAS 5.5"
I assume that it is a single(?) stroke pneumatic.
After searching the net all I come upon are PCP examples by Ace Precision.
Has anyone have leads or information on this mystery air rifle?

I also have this thread posted in the general section.

    Cheers.

That's better. with a sidelever and sliding cylinder like that, I'd assume its a springer (or gas ram) design... bit of a Diana 48/52 copy... ?

    ACE rifles from Korea

About ten years ago I gave a chap an ACE outfit. The rifle had a side-lever like yours. It opened the breech and an air cartridge was popped in.Used to knock out .22s at around a thou. It came with a 4ft long tube you attached to a SCUBA tank.No dials. You put your cartridges in the tube, screwed on the lid and 'inflated' them. Think I still have a cartridge or two around.Anyrate, that was the only Korean ACE i ever saw.

Thanks for that gem Trevor. The jig saw assembly begins or maybe that is the sum total; we are hopeful that more information and examples are out there.
So the process to charge was as in an autoclave(?), interesting.

Thanks for that Mick; I think?
or reminiscent of Feinwerkbau, or the earliest(?) Emei http://smg.photobucket.com/user/spee...da7f0.jpg.html
    Later Emei

    or the many TS-45 variations

    Blimey, John.

Mine is exactly the same as that, though with a little more patina (rust ), it was found in a skip though.

Mine's been painted black Mick so it's possible there's no blueing below it!!

It came with a really rugged Canvas and leather Relum rifle slip!!

At this point, the only reference to Ace Precision is in regard to their PCP units that have seemingly good reports. Perhaps this is of similar build quality?

Has anyone got any of these in their spares/unknown/oddsnsods drawer?

The air cartridge looks like this

As an "air cartridge" gun - would that be similarly problematic to own as other air cartridge guns?
